The Official Records and History of the Now Defunct Dana College Football Program

1926-2009

Home

dana_ne_old1The Dana College Football program started in 1926 with a one game season against who is now known as the University of Nebraska Omaha. The Vikings lost that game 24-0 under the instruction of Head Coach L.C Bungaard. From that day until the final game the program played on November 14th, 2009 against Doane College the Vikings saw a lot of ups and a lot of downs.

Over the course of its history Dana College produced 19 winning seasons with none more special than the 1987 season that saw the Vikings advance to the NAIA postseason and finish with a program best 8-3 record under the guidance of Head Coach Leo McKillip.

This website is to serve as a historical preserve for the alumni of the Dana College Football program, its fans and fans of college football.
